Position Summary
As a Jr. Sous Chef at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort, you will play a key role in
delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests. You will collaborate
with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop innovative menus, ensure the
highest food quality standards, and lead kitchen operations with a focus on
training and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Quality: Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Maintain consistency and presentation of all dishes. Monitor and control food costs and wastage.
- Leadership & Team Management: Assist in supervising and training junior kitchen staff to ensure efficiency and adherence to brand standards. Foster a positive team environment that encourages professional development and high performance.
- Kitchen Operations: Oversee daily production schedules, kitchen stock levels, and inventory management. Collaborate with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in planning menus, specials, and seasonal offerings. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with other departments (e.g., Food & Beverage) to coordinate guest events and themed promotions. Continuously explore new culinary trends, techniques, and presentations to elevate the guest dining experience.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen, ideally with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior-level line cook position.
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Leadership ability with solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure during peak service hours.
- Commitment to cleanliness, quality, and safety standards.
