Position: Pastry & Bakery Sous Chef

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in managing all aspects of the pastry and bakery department.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate the pastry team to maintain high standards of quality and creativity.
  • Create and prepare a diverse range of desserts, cakes, breads, and pastries for all outlets and events.
  • Ensure consistency in product quality, presentation, and taste according to resort standards.
  • Manage inventory, control costs, and oversee the ordering of all pastry and bakery supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years in a similar position.
  • Possesses good leadership skills and displays natural authority with the team.
  • Appreciates contact with guests.
  • Demonstrates good time management and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable with basic administrative duties such as scheduling and ordering.
  • Comfortable in a variety of disciplines: whole cakes, wedding cakes, plated desserts, coffee breaks, bakery, buffets, etc.
  • Aware of the local trends and market.
  • International experience is a plus.
  • Able to maintain and update recipes following established standards.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills to work as a team with other departments.
  • Fluent English is required.
