A lot of hotel staff stay in this role for years simply because they never question it, measure success by title or income rather than capability growth. The trap is the hotel keeps running while your growth stands still, you wake up realizing responsibilities stayed the same while expectations grew and this unfolds slowly across three to five years.

Position: Sales Manager (Proactive)

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and secure new business accounts through proactive sales calls and networking in Surabaya.
  • Manage and grow existing accounts to maximize production and revenue.
  • Conduct site inspections and client entertainment to showcase the hotel’s facilities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports for management review.
  • Represent Aloft Surabaya at trade shows, industry events, and sales missions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in proactive sales within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong network of corporate and travel industry contacts in East Java.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and drive results.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
