Position: Chief Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee all hotel Engineering and Maintenance operations, ensuring the property’s assets, facilities, and systems are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
- Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget, including capital projects and preventive maintenance programs.
- Lead and mentor the Engineering team, managing work schedules, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and national safety, environmental, and building codes.
- Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and external service providers, overseeing large projects and repairs.
- Implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives to reduce utility costs and environmental impact.
- Provide prompt and efficient support to all operating departments, maintaining a seamless environment for guests.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience (5+ years) as a Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering in a luxury hotel (5-star) or large commercial property.
- A degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Proven leadership ability in managing large technical teams and complex maintenance programs in Bandung.
- In-depth knowledge of hotel plant systems (HVAC, fire safety, electrical, plumbing, BMS).
- Strong budgetary, financial planning, and project management skills.
- A proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving, with a commitment to high operational quality.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with hotel leadership and external authorities.
