Position: Junior Sous Chef – Bakery

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Pastry Chef in managing the daily operations of the bakery and pastry kitchen.
  • Supervise and train commis and demi chefs in the bakery section.
  • Ensure the consistent production of high-quality artisan breads, pastries, desserts, and other baked goods.
  • Contribute to the development of new bakery and pastry menu items.
  • Manage inventory, ordering of supplies, and ensure proper stock rotation for the bakery.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a professional bakery, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Culinary degree or formal training in baking and pastry arts is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Creative flair and a deep passion for the art of baking.
  • In-depth knowledge of various baking techniques, from classical to contemporary.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP).
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume resort environment.
