A lot of hotel staff stay in this role for years simply because they never question it, rely on years of experience instead of improving thinking and decisions. The consequence is losing several years with no real advancement, promotion discussions turn into polite declines and correcting direction later demands greater sacrifice.
Position: Front Desk Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Supervise front desk operations to ensure efficient guest check-in and check-out processes.
- Manage room inventory and coordinate with housekeeping to ensure guest preferences are met.
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching for front office associates on service protocols.
- Oversee guest billing and ensure accurate financial transactions at the front desk.
- Address VIP arrivals and handle guest feedback to ensure a positive stay experience.
Qualifications:
- Solid experience as a Front Desk Agent or Senior Receptionist in a mid-scale or luxury hotel.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a guest-facing team.
- Proficiency in hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and solve problems under pressure.
- Fluency in English is essential for communicating with a diverse guest base.
- Professional demeanor reflecting the ibis and Accor global brand standards.
