Position: Commis – Teppanyaki (Sumire)
Responsibilities:
- Assist Teppanyaki chefs in the preparation of ingredients (mise en place).
- Learn and master the art of Teppanyaki cooking and presentation.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Teppanyaki station and kitchen area.
- Ensure all food is prepared according to the restaurant’s high standards.
- Support the culinary team during service to ensure a smooth operation.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Commis or in a junior kitchen role, preferably with exposure to Japanese cuisine.
- A strong interest in and passion for Teppanyaki cooking.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior chefs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
- Culinary school graduate is a plus.
