Position: Sous Chef – Pastry
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in managing the daily operations of the pastry and bakery department.
- Supervise the production of all desserts, pastries, cakes, and breads for all hotel outlets.
- Contribute to the development of new and creative dessert menus and concepts.
- Train, mentor, and supervise the pastry team to ensure high standards are met.
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control for the pastry kitchen.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-volume pastry kitchen, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Expertise in a wide range of pastry and baking techniques, including chocolate and sugar work.
- Strong creativity and artistic skills for presentation.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Good knowledge of food cost control and inventory management.
- Experience in a large 5-star resort is essential.
- A pastry diploma or equivalent certification is required.
