A Housekeeping Storekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of a hotel’s housekeeping storeroom. They work closely with housekeeping staff to ensure that all necessary supplies and cleaning equipment are stocked and available.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Issue and replenish guest room and minibar items to reach appropriate stock par levels.
  • Monitor PAR levels for all housekeeping and laundry items to ensure correct stock levels.
  • Take responsibility for the storage of all housekeeping operational stock and laundry items.
  • Verify all arriving items against purchase orders and shipping records, ensuring the correct quantity has been received.
  • Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items.
  • Ensure all store requests are signed by the concerned Head of Department (HOD) and approved accordingto hotel procedure.
  • Ensure the quantity requested and the quantity issued always match.
  • Ensure store request forms are signed by the person collecting the goods and entered into the inventory/Material Management System (MMS).
  • Post all invoices using the Material Management System.
  • Record all items that are loaned or damaged.
  • Prepare daily stock reports and other store-related reports.
  • Prepare a monthly amenity consumption report for executive housekeeping management.
  • Monitor the quality and expiration dates of guest room amenities and minibar items.
  • Save clear and organized notes to ensure all reports and invoices are filed correctly.
  • Conduct daily inspections of storage facilities for maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of all storage areas, keeping them neat and in accordance with cleaning regulations.
  • Manage fire control and pest control for the storeroom.
  • Maintain close coordination with other department staff.
  • Adhere to all hotel and department rules and regulations.
  • Assume other tasks as assigned by management.

Prerequisites

  • Good health, with a neat and pleasant appearance.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Material Management Systems.
  • Work experience in main hotel software is an additional benefit.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (verbally or in writing) with all levels of employees and guests.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent. A Diploma in Hotel Administration or a Bachelor’s in Hotel Management is preferred.

Experience

Two to three years of experience in a related position.
