Position: Junior Sous Chef Japanese

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a role model and leader for the Japanese culinary team, maintaining initiative and professional standards in the kitchen.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of all Japanese dishes, ensuring meticulous detail and maintaining top standards in kitchen operations.
  • Ensure all Teppanyaki cooking (essential skill) is executed with solid knowledge of HACCP, food allergens, and dietary restrictions.
  • Manage detailed documentation and reporting for the Japanese kitchen section accurately and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate commitment to guest satisfaction, effective communication, and strong teamwork within the culinary department.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management from a recognized institution.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to act as a role model, take initiative, and make quick, accurate decisions under pressure in a 5-star Japanese kitchen.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, maintaining top standards in kitchen operations, documentation, and reporting.
  • Proficient in Teppanyaki cooking (essential skill) with solid knowledge of HACCP, food allergens, and dietary restrictions.
  • Committed to guest satisfaction, effective communication, and teamwork, proficient in ordering systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience specializing in high-end Japanese cuisine within a luxury hotel or resort.
  • Valid Food Safety & Hygiene certificates are required.
