A lot of hotel staff stay in this role for years simply because they never question it, and choose comfort with familiar duties instead of harder responsibilities. Position: Pastry Sous Chef (25206211)
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the pastry team to produce high quality desserts and baked goods
- Design and implement innovative pastry menus that align with W’s bold brand identity
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure food safety standards are strictly followed
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for high quality ingredients
- Mentor junior pastry chefs and foster a creative, collaborative environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar role within luxury or high end properties
- Expertise in pastry techniques, baking, and artistic dessert presentation
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Creative mindset with a passion for experimenting with flavors and designs
- Knowledge of international food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Highly organized and detail oriented
