A lot of hotel staff stay in this role for years simply because they never question it, focus only on finishing tasks rather than building transferable skills. Many entry-level professionals confuse the daily rotation with progress, realizing too late that five years of experience is often just one year of learning repeated five times.
Position: Receptionist
Responsibilities:
- Manage guest check-in and check-out procedures with a positive and professional manner
- Handle room bookings, cancellations, and guest inquiries using the PMS/ Opera system
- Process billings, invoices, and payments accurately according to financial standards
- Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest requests and resolve issues promptly
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge regarding resort facilities and local Sumba culture
Qualifications:
- Indonesian citizenship
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Has a background in a 5-star hotel or luxury brand
- Familiarity with booking systems such as PMS/ Opera system
- Has understanding of billing, invoicing, and payment handling
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekdays and holidays
- Has a positive attitude and professional manner
- Excellent communication in English both in written and verbal
